Three hobbyist reverse-engineers are bringing the canceled game Concord back to life. The game, developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, was pulled offline just two weeks after its release due to poor sales and low player numbers. The developers, who go by the names Red, gwog, and Real online, are working to make the game playable again. Red, who has experience in bringing LawBreakers back online, said he was motivated by the technical challenge and the desire to preserve the game. The team is using a method that turns the game into its own server and has made significant progress over the past two months. They have posted a video of the playtest on the Concord Reddit page and have a Discord channel for future private playtests. The next step is to add Concord to a platform called Ancify, which is designed to host dead games and prevent duplicate work. The developers hope that people will be respectful of the project and appreciate the effort to preserve the game, regardless of their personal feelings about it.
