Bengals Activate Mike Gesicki: Former Patriots Tight End Ready for Week 12 Clash!

Facing a Week 12 challenge, the Cincinnati Bengals are making strategic moves, especially with the potential return of a familiar face – former Patriots tight end, Mike Gesicki.

The Bengals are bracing for a tough Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots, and unfortunately, they’ll be without some key players. The defense is dealing with injuries, and they’ll be missing their top offensive weapon, Ja’Marr Chase, due to a suspension. Adding to the woes, quarterback Joe Burrow is still recovering from a toe injury and is unlikely to play on Sunday.

However, there’s a glimmer of hope! The team welcomed back a couple of players to practice on Wednesday, including tight end Mike Gesicki, who previously played for the Patriots. The Bengals’ official social media account announced that safety Daijahn Anthony and Gesicki were cleared to return to practice.

This is a positive step for Gesicki, who has been on injured reserve since October 15th due to a pectoral injury. But, it’s important to note that his return to the field in Week 12 isn’t guaranteed.

Gesicki’s return to practice opens a 21-day window during which he can be activated to the roster. This is a crucial period for the 30-year-old player.

Before joining the Bengals, Gesicki spent his first five seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He then signed with the Patriots in March 2023. During his single season with the Patriots, Gesicki had 29 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns from 45 targets.

So far this season with the Bengals, Gesicki has eight receptions for 61 yards in six games.

What do you think of Gesicki’s potential impact on the Bengals? Will he be a key player for them? Share your thoughts in the comments!
