So I have 2 jobs
One is home based admin and I’m an employee - I can still do this from home even after the baby arrives
my self employed job I can’t - but I’m totally stuck as to how to apply for maternity pay.
Last time I was just self employed so applied for maternity allowance. But from what I have read I can’t apply for SMP and maternity allowance so I would loose out on my self employed work.
Is there a way I can remain employed by my employer - and work as I can do that round the baby, but claim maternity allowance for my self employed job? I really can’t afford to loose income from my self employed job

I cannot see any way that this would be possible.
If you are getting SMP from your employer then you are allowed to do any amount of self employed work that you want but are restricted to only working 10 KIT (Keeping in Touch) days with that employer.
If you are on maternity allowance you are again restricted to only working for an employer or as self employed for 10 KIT days. -

I think you need to read this:https://workingfamilies.org.uk/articles/what-work-can-you-do-during-maternity-adoption-parental-leave/I think they'd be able to answer any queries that doesn't resolve - and do come back and let us know what they say!

Have you considered setting up your own limited company and becoming an employee of that for what is currently your self employed work? It's not that onerous and if it solves your problem...
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Cannot see how this would help as the OP wants to remain working for the employer and get MA for the self employment.
